Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid surgery, which is also called blepharoplasty, is an operation that to performed for removing sagging skin and excess fat tissue on eyelids. This surgery can be performed on the upper eyelid, lower eyelid or both. Therefore, upper eyelid surgery, lower eyelid surgery or both can be performed depending on the condition of the eyelids.
If there is sagging and excess skin on the upper eyelid, the incision is made over the eyelid to remove excess skin, then some fat in the lower part of the eyelid is removed. If there is sagging in tear glands is sagging, they are fixed. Then, the operated area is closed up by using melting stitches. If there are eye bags and a saggy lower eyelid, the incision is made just under the eyelashes. The excess skin is removed and the fat in the eye bags are spread under the eye. Then, the operated area is closed up by using melting stitches. If there is an apparent under-eye hollow, the fat removed can be injected into these areas.
